How it happened

Islam Makhachev carried his welterweight title through five rounds in Philadelphia, taking a unanimous decision over Ian Machado Garry to move to 29-1. It was his first defence of the belt he took from Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 322 in November, and his fourth straight win.

Machado Garry falls to 17-2. Both defeats have come on the scorecards — this one and a unanimous decision to Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310.
