This policy describes what FighterStatus.com and the FighterStatus Android app collect, why, and how to get rid of it. The app shows the same website, so everything below applies equally to both.
What we collect
- Account details — if you create an account: your email address, the username you choose, and a password (stored only as a cryptographic hash, never in readable form). Accounts are needed only to comment on event pages; browsing needs none.
- Google or Facebook sign-in — if you sign in that way, we receive your email address and your name from that provider. We never receive your password, and we do not post anything to your accounts.
- Newsletter signups — your email address and, optionally, a favourite sport. If you signed up while creating an account, your name is included so the newsletter can greet you properly.
- Comments — the text you post on event pages, shown publicly under your username.
- Analytics — we use Google Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics to see which pages are read and how people arrive. These record things like the pages you visit, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser type, and set an identifier to recognise repeat visits. We do not use them to build advertising profiles.
- Server logs — standard technical logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) kept briefly for security and debugging.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not run advertising. Your data is handled by a small number of services that make the site work:
- EmailOctopus — stores newsletter subscribers and sends the newsletter.
- Google Analytics and Ahrefs — website analytics.
- Google and Facebook — only if you choose to sign in with them.
- Cloudflare and our hosting provider — serving and protecting the site.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account yourself at any time from your profile page, on the website or in the app. That removes your username, email address, password and social sign-in connection, and unsubscribes you from the newsletter here and at EmailOctopus.
Comments you posted stay on the site but are unlinked from you and shown as [deleted], so that other people's replies still make sense. Nothing in them identifies you.
Every newsletter also carries its own unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove your email at any time via the contact page.
Cookies
The site sets cookies that are necessary for it to work — form security (CSRF), your signed-in session, and a note of whether you ticked the newsletter box during signup. Google Analytics and Ahrefs set their own analytics cookies or identifiers as described above. You can block cookies in your browser; the site will still work, though you will not be able to stay signed in.
Children
FighterStatus is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes
